How it's made
Boréale is one person: JigSawFr, a full-stack engineer who has built and run production software for years. AI coding assistants are part of the workshop, like the compiler, the tests and the CI. They write fast; I decide what ships.
JigSawFrWhat I do
- The architecture, the scope, what ships and what doesn't
- Reviewing every change before it reaches
main - Testing on a real console when a change touches it
- Signing every commit and every release
AIWhat AI does
- First drafts of code and tests, which I rework
- Part of the documentation
- The translations into 15 languages, checked as far as I can
- Reviews on top of mine, never instead of them
What it means for you
- Nothing unreviewed
- No change reaches
mainwithout being read and passing CI. - No AI in the apps
- AI helps write the code. The homebrews call no AI service and send it nothing. The Home Assistant integration can offer its actions to Home Assistant's own assistant, if you expose a console to it.
- A clumsy translation?
- Open an issue: it is fixed in the next version. Issues
